A couple things I would add to this great video. Be sure to watch the entire video to hear the good things about an All-Inclusive as well as the bad that is listed.
1. The way an All Inclusive works depends on the resort. Sandals & Beaches Resorts do NOT have wrist bands so there is no need to worry about losing those & paying for them.
2. Sandals & Beaches, and Karisma resorts are known for their great food - especially Karisma Resorts (Azul, El Dorado, Generations- perfect for foodies). I've visited nearly all the Sandals Resorts and all the Beaches by Sandals resorts and I haven't had a bland meal.
3. You can also tell what the drinks will be like by the top shelf liquors they have at the resort. If you would like a cocktail made with a specific label then you simply need to ask for it. (see photo above left)
4. You don't really get to know the culture of a country via cruise ship either. You stop in a port for several hours and then you move on. You only get to see what is nearby in that port. That would be like foreigners sailing into Boston & only seeing Boston. You don't get to know the entire country by one port. Same with the resort, you won't get to know an entire country by one resort, but you can get the feel of a country by the resort staff, the resort cuisine, the travel to the resort & the excursions around the resort. If you want a great beach, great scuba diving that is in another country then you are there for the beach, not necessarily the country.
5. LOVE what he has to say about SERVICE. Listen up!
6. If you lose your sunscreen in Italy, or at Disney, or on a Cruise ship then you will pay a higher price for it than you would at Walmart - it's common sense.
7. If you priced out each thing that IS included (scuba, water sports, high end dining, room service, gratuities included, airport transfers, etc) then it would add up to more than you pay for an All -Inclusive Resort.
If you know what to expect then you can have a great vacation. Thank you to Wolters World for this great video.
We all look for peer reviews. Whether it be a product we buy or travel we are peer dependent people. Just look at movie reviews... how many times have your friends recommended a movie that the critics hated, yet you loved the movie? It's no different when considering a vacation destination.
I include trip reviews in my correspondences with clients, however I do add this caution when I send or quote a review.
Without question one of the most visited cities in America is Orlando Florida. Families flock to the city throughout the year for vacation. Why do families choose Orlando?
The obvious reason is that Orlando is home to Walt Disney World. It’s a one-stop fun filled vacation for everyone in the family. With four theme parks, two water parks, and resort hotels ranging in value to deluxe near each theme park, plus Downtown Disney, Disney alone would keep a family busy for much longer than a week with everything it has to see and do. Keep an eye out, or just be on my mailing list for specials year around for Disney destinations. But there’s more to Orlando than the magical world of Disney.
Universal Studios has two fun parks, with the all new Transformers Ride and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Islands of Adventure, plus the City Walk full of shopping, restaurants, and entertainment like the Blue Man Group. It has three on-site resort hotels within walking distance of the parks, and with its fourth on-site resort hotel, The Cabana Bay-a moderate/value resort, opening in March 2014 Universal brings more families to this destination. Universal Studios also has several partner hotels ranging from value to luxury where guests can receive some Universal Benefits:
There is more to enjoy in Orlando; let’s look at Sea World, Aquatica and Discovery Cove.
Sea World is as the name suggests a park full of sea life fun, roller coaster and entertainment. Dolphin shows, whales, walruses, sea lions, rides, and exhibits. Aquatica is Sea World’s water park full of water rides and animal attractions. Part of the Sea World family is Busch Gardens Tampa which you can also purchase tickets for Busch Gardens in a Sea World package. Sea World will also provide transportation to Busch Gardens Tampa.
Discovery Cove is an all-inclusive day resort with a thirty minute dolphin encounter for each member of the family. All food and beverages are included at Discovery Cove, so families can pay one price and spend the entire day in a tropical-like environment complete with a beach & snorkeling. Not to worry about the crowds because Discovery Cove only allows a specific number of guests in the park each day. With the park admission to Discovery Cove comes with a 14 day consecutive admissions ticket to Sea World and Aquatica. Thus, you receive three park admissions for one price.
Orlando, Florida also offers sunny year round weather and for folks living on the eastern parts of the US its easy travel to Orlando with non-stop flights or within driving distance. These are just a few of the reasons many families choose Orlando as their vacation destination.

The dictionary defines value as: "The worth of something in terms of the amount of other things for which it can be exchanged." Value means different things to different people. To me, it means "Cheapest is not always cheapest." In other words if you have to pay again for the same item then it's not worth the original lowest cost. If you purchase a cheap pair of shoes that wear out a month later to which you must purchase another pair of shoes -then it would make better sense to purchase a quality shoe that costs more initially but will last you longer.
Here's an example of vacation value. When we lived in Florida we went to Disney World many times. At first my husband was reluctant to stay on Disney property believing the cost was out of proportion. His "value" of the Disney properties had a different view -cost only. Thus, we stayed at a name brand hotel (I won't divulge here) for a miniscule $75 per night. It was obviously not on Disney property & it was terribly outdated. There was mold along the tub that just wouldn't come off, the carpet was well worn, we all kept sneezing when in the room, and worst of all the fire alarm kept going off every morning at 2 am! We ended up moving to a hotel closer to the main gate & a notch or two up in hotel star rating than the previous one. This greatly improved the remainder of our stay in Orlando. Having previously stayed at the Disney Property Dixie Landings, now Port Orleans resort, it was very clear that our lower cost in hotel was not a good value choice. There is a reason the Disney properties are at a certain price point. With each resort hotel you get certain amenities and expectations. If we had originally booked even the Value Resort at Disney World we would've had a better experience than the cheapest hotel a few miles from the main gate, because we would still get the Disney "magic" as well as Disney transportation to the parks, Disney dining, great pools, friendly well-trained staff, & well kept hotels. I'm happy to say that my husband has changed his value perception when it comes to vacationing. It only took that one bad experience and a great stay on Disney to convince him otherwise.
Included in the Disney resorts is transportation and other amenities per resort. For instance we vacationed in between Thanksgiving and Christmas at the Port Orleans and thus on the patio of the resort there were Carolers singing and complimentary cookies and hot chocolate. We also had great dining options with the resort or we could take a complimentary water taxi to Downtown Disney & dine there. As you can see it is important to take a look at all that you get when you reserve a hotel or plan a vacation. As your vacation planner, I am here to be your "value interpreter" & make sure you are booking the best value according to your desires, destination, and plans. The old adage, "you get what you pay for" was abundantly clear in our first low-cost hotel choice.
One of the questions I get most often is "Why should I book my vacation with you instead of online?" Fair question, after all I was the vacation planner for my family for many years as well as for some of my friends and I did it all online. Actually the internet helps my business as a vacation planner because there is simply too much to consider, and it can be overwhelming.
The one thing I want people to understand most about a vacation planner / travel agent is that we work for you at no cost to you. When you go online to book travel then you are actually using a travel agency, the online booking engine belongs to a travel company, but YOU are doing all the work and research. Those who book online without the aid of a vacation planner are basically on their own. There is no concierge level service behind it. [Some people like this -which is why I have a booking engine on my website. However, even those who book on my website will still receive my fabulous service, expertise, and agent only contacts.]
Agents also have contacts with Business Managers that are available only to agent which aids in smoothing out any bumps in the vacation road. Your vacation planner wants you to have a wonderful experience and this means researching at length the details of your vacation. Is your cruise stateroom under the busiest restaurant on the ship? Do you have passport applications? Do you know where to apply for a passport or where to get your photo taken? Did you know that land excursion you want doesn't come with lunch & has 3 miles of walking involved? Did you know you can play a game of Hidden Mickey's throughout the Walt Disney World Theme parks? Do you know the quickest route to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter? Did you know that if you stay at one of the Disneyland properties you have a back entrance to the CA Adventure park? Several clients tell me, "I don't have time to go online and look up all the information." Also, information online is not always complete and there are insider tips and information that a vacation planner can give you.
The worst thing a person can do is to use the services of a vacation planner to design a wonderful vacation and then go book online - giving the commission to a company behind the booking engine who did nothing to earn the reward. The vacation planner has a lot of spent time, often many hours, researching your destination calling their contacts and making your vacation a priority to make sure you have a wonderful and hassle-free vacation. We don't stop working when your vacation is booked like an online booking engine... we make sure all is going well before, during and after your trip. Companies like to work with travel agents because they know we are highly trained and insured and we have our client's best interest in mind.
